William Robert Buck is a Northern California writer and photographer who visited all 30 national scenic and historic trails, completing 20,000 miles of journeys throughout the United States. Across 50 states on road trips, cross-country rail adventures and long hiking treks, Buck took over 10,000 photographs, the best of which are featured in the National Trails Guide. He began a blog profiling the highlights of the national trails in 2012 and served on the National Trails System 50th anniversary committee with PNTS.
His work has been published in The Guardian, New York Times Syndicate and newspapers across the West.
